Jakarta Party Bus: Best Way to Enjoy Jakarta Nightlife with Big Groups

If you are planning to party in Jakarta with a group (starting 6 people), you should spend some time considering your transportation options.

Clubs in Jakarta are rather far from each other and you'll most likely need to spend a couple hours in traffic to go from one point to another. Until a few years ago, what I was doing with friends was to rent a minivan for the weekend, load it with beers and music, and go from one place to the other with it. It is not that practical if you are more than 6 or 7 though and it is not perfect in terms of facilities (no fridge) and music (poor speakers).

Since last year, you have a great alternative in the form of a proper luxury party bus. Created by the team behind the website WhatsNewJakarta.com, it is by far the best options for bachelor parties, bachelorettes, birthdays or any other events with a large group of people.

The bus, called Royale VIP Bus, can accommodate up to 25 people easily. The price depends on the number of hours you intend to use it. For a typical night out in Jakarta, I would say you need at least 8 hours from 8pm to 4am when clubs are closing. For more details about the pricing, you can check their website www.royalevipbus.com.

For 8 hours, the cost is IDR5,5M, which can be split evenly between the group members. The price includes a driver, gasoline, an assistant, a butler, a karaoke system, a fridge, ice cubes, plastic cups and a toilet. As the driver is familiar with nightlife venues in Jakarta, you won't have to think about orientation as well.

The interior of the bus gives you the impression to be inside a nightclub with disco lights, a surround sound system and 2 dancing poles. Fortunately, it has curtains and it is discreet from the outside so you don't have to worry about attracting too much unwanted attentions.

My recommendation would be to start your night out with a few drinks in Kemang, then head to Mega Kuningan for dinner (Loewy for instance), then move to one of the clubs in Gatot Subroto (Blowfish or Dragonfly), move again to Immigrant, and finally visit Colosseum in Kota.

Be sure to prepare enough bottles of wines, beers or spirits, and also a playlist on your iphone that you can connect to the speakers. They also have their own selection of songs in case you don't want to bother with that part.
