RedDoorz near UOB Plaza is good choice for a pocket-friendly hotel in Jakarta. It is right in the center, next to the Transjakarta bus station and walking distance from Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia. It is a small property with 20 rooms only, a restaurant and a friendly staff.

This hotel is not as centrally located as the two other mentioned above, but it is still within 10 minutes taxi from Plaza Indonesia and 15-20 from Senayan. You can also walk to Jalan Rasuna Said pretty easily. It is in a nice, quiet neighborhood with quite many street food options and a few authentic markets (for instance Pasar Rumput). Another good point is that the hotel is very affordable. It is a small, cozy property with only 10 rooms.

Karet in Setiabudi is famous for having dozens of cheap residences for young executives and students. It is not far from Rasuna Said street, and particularly from Pasar Festival Mall, Taman Rasuna, Epicentrum and Setiabudi One. It is also very strategic for long stays as you have some internet cafés, laundries and plenty of street food.

Sarinah is a great location for travelers to Jakarta. It is close from Jalan Jaksa, Monas, Gambir train station, Plaza Indonesia, Bunderan HI, the National Museum, etc. It is also a great place to get street food, in particular on Jalan Sabang.
