With the arrival of online dating sites, you no longer know where your next partner is going to be from. If you stick with mariadating.com, most likely you are going to end up with someone from Ukraine. But when you use other international dating services, you may easily end up in Jakarta, Indonesia. And, let's be honest, most likely you know nothing about Jakarta and the places to visit there. Who cares, you may say, your girlfriend is going to be your guide. It is true, but only if you don't want to make a good impression on her. You see, Indonesian women like men to lead, even when it comes to deciding where to go in their homeland. But wait, let's think about it in a different way. Online dating may have nothing to do with that. You may just want to make a romantic trip with your girlfriend to Jakarta. Needless to say, it requires the knowledge of what to do and where to go in Jakarta.

In order to help you with that, we've compiled the list of places that you should visit in Jakarta. To make it easier for you, we've divided our list into two parts. First, we are going to talk about the places that you should visit if you want to enjoy the national and historic heritage of Indonesia's capital. Then we are going to talk about the places where you can just chill. So, let's figure them out without a further ado.

Heritage

1. The National Monument

You can simply enjoy observing the National Monument from the ground, or you can pay just one dollar to climb at the top of it and to admire the view. You should go up the monument in the daytime, but if you want to observe it from the ground, it's better to do it at night as the structure is beautifully lit.

2. The Istiqlal Mosque

The Jakarta Cathedral don't compare to the Istiqlal Mosque neither in size nor in the beauty of the design. Still, it's one of the places that you should visit in the capital of Indonesia. It was built in 1901 and it remains the largest establishment of the Roman Catholic church in Indonesia. The interior design of the cathedral can easily fool you that you are not in an Asian country but in Europe.

While you are in Jakarta you should visit as many cafes and restaurants as possible to try Indonesian cuisine.
